ARA’s Integrated Products Division is seeking a Concrete Additive Construction Technician. If you are ready to join a dynamic team, please apply!

In this position we’re looking for a hands-on person that can assist in operation and testing tasks related to concrete additive construction. Experience with real-world 3-dimensional concrete printing as well as the ability to setup, operate and clean machinery effectively is a plus! Our ideal candidate will have field and laboratory experience and be able to provide operational recommendations to optimize the overall printing system functionality. The right candidate must have the flexibility to be able to work in both an office and shop space settings and be able to travel.

This position will require the setup and operation a 3-dimensional concrete printing machine and supporting equipment. You’ll develop an understanding of the overall printer design, its concept of operations, and the ability to execute and test prototype shape development. You’ll gain experience safely and effectively operating a concrete printer and its supporting equipment.

The goal of this multi-year additive construction program will be to advance the prototype system and material capabilities to complete designed structures both in controlled and field environments. The operator must be able to keep documentation and findings and effectively communicate to program staff and provide feedback on future updates to the program.

  • What you’ll do as a 3D Concrete Technician

  • A progression of testing will be assigned to setup, operate, and disassemble the printer and associated equipment.

  • Effectively communicate feedback and findings from use of the concrete printing system.

  • Concrete mixture testing, review overall system functions, and operate computer and control interfaces

  • As an operator and trainer, you will facilitate and provide modifications to be considered for printed concepts based on testing and findings.

  • Assembly of electronic and hardware components.

  • Functional testing and troubleshooting, documentation, and feedback reporting.

  • Work with a team of engineers and technicians on a range of projects - robotics, security, and geoscience.

  • 3D Concrete Technician Requirements

  • Knowledge of 3-dimensional concrete printing equipment and operation.

  • Experience with concrete construction and associated equipment to include specialized concrete material mixing and handling.

  • High School diploma with 5-6 years of experience.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies and troubleshooting.

  • Prior use and practice of safe handling of hand and power tools

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team

  • Professionalism

  • General computer skills

  • 3D Concrete Technician Preferences

  • Experience executing concrete quality assurance testing for material mixtures.

  • Experience with G-code program loading – capability to monitor and adjust preprogrammed shapes being printed.

  • An ability to interpret schematics and drawings for designed and purchased equipment.

Experience

Required

  • 5-6 years: Related job experience

  • 1-2 year: Experience with manufacturing tools and systems
