Eaton Corporation Regional Technical Support - Small Systems in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Regional Technical Support Specialist - Small Systems. This position can be based remotely from anywhere within the United States or in Raleigh, NC. Relocation will be offered to those willing to relocate to Raleigh, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year.

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions Division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our technicians deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers’ most challenging energy management requirements.

In this role, the primary responsibilities of this position include providing timely solutions to any/all customer and or Field Service technical inquiries as well as providing on site technical support.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field from an accredited school and/or 2 years of equivalent experience in a technical field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Technical UPS and Battery Experience on Eaton supported products.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 4 years of Technical UPS and Battery Experience on Eaton supported products.

  • Ability to analyze drawings and electrical schematics. Understanding of Uninterruptible Power Systems.

  • Ability to use electronic troubleshooting equipment to identify and isolate battery and battery monitoring systems.

  • Understands and is capable of performing work safely in hazardous electrical arch flash environments. (480vac, 600vac, 800vdc).

Skills:

  • Handles phone, chat, and email requests, from both customer / end-user and field technicians, including after hours rotation; requests are primarily “post-sales” including, but not limited to, UPS hardware, Battery, and other power- related equipment; required to log into Cisco Finesse phone system, and document as necessary such calls in Salesforce, and follows escalations procedures when applicable.

  • Assists with providing information for the population of the North American Action Register, through providing feedback on any/all product issue(s) resolutions discovered or unresolved issues.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement of field procedures, and related service manual content

  • Assumes the role as the point of escalation traveling to technical and/or commercial field emergencies at any domestic or international customer location.

  • Coordinates site testing plans to identifying root cause of technical problems

  • Participates in Escalation and Load Loss problem solving conference calls where data analysis and action plan development are required.

  • Participates in the delivery of field services, approximately 50% the time, mentoring Customer Service Engineers

  • Provides information in assisting field technicians with modification opportunities as required, assuring this information is communicated to all

  • Participates as part of the National Service Delivery Team as well as the Technical Support Team.

  • Assumes the role of Primary or Secondary on Call on a rotating basis where an immediate response to Evening and Weekend technical support phone calls is required.

  • Identifies issues that can improve the business and develop the team

  • Project Contributor and Trainer of others

  • Partners with Technical Publications team to inform and develop field service procedures
