Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Hardware Engineering Technician in Pullman, Washington

As a Hardware Engineering Technician in Research & Development, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.

As a Hardware Engineering Technician, a typical day might include the following:

  • Perform basic electronic hardware tests in accordance with defined engineering procedures or guidelines under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians.

  • Build engineering prototypes under the direction of an electrical engineer or experienced technician. Document prototype construction and maintain pertinent engineering records.

  • Assist engineers in the evaluation of new electronic components.

  • Assemble test fixtures, load banks, and other components common to product development.

  • Provide support to engineering staff as needed.

  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) of modest complexity under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians.

This job might be for you if:

  • You have a two-year electronic technology or related associate degree.

  • You have working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.

  • You are familiar with modern test equipment & programming languages.

  • You have experience with O.S. and computer equipment.

  • You have practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.

  • You are familiar with PCB router, 3d printer, and/or milling machines.

  • You have knowledge and experience using CAD software tools.

    Pay Range Data:

    We anticipate filling this position as a Hardware Engineering Technician $24.00 - $34.60 per hour. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
