Position Details:

 

Summary of Duties:

 

This position is responsible for assisting with the overall management and leadership of the Compliance and Operations area. This position has primary responsibility for Loan Programs (Federal and Private), Satisfactory Academic Progress, and Return of Title IV (R2T4). This position also supports data requests, policies and procedures, and provides counseling and guidance to students, parents, faculty and the public relative to student financial aid eligibility. This position will administer and direct personnel management of the Operations and Regulatory Quality Assurance staff and participate in internal and external working committees.

 

Position duties and responsibilities will be performed in support of office vision, mission and values as well as institutional mission and goals.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.

 

• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies and procedures.

 

• Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

 

• Demonstrated, first-hand experience in customer service and familiarity with working with diverse populations.

 

• Developed effective interpersonal skills in all areas of written and verbal communication, including background with small and large group presentations.

 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/evenings.

 

• Exceptional problem-solving, project management, decision-making, and visionary skills.

 

• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master's degree in a relevant field.

 

• Experience working in a financial aid operation in higher education.

 

• Experience in strategic planning, formulation, design, implementation and tracking.

 

• Experience creating/auditing administrative procedures and internal controls.

 

• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of direct reports.

 

• Experience with PeopleSoft.
