Overview

SRI International's Integrated Systems and Solutions (InSys) division (headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey) has an immediate opening for an early career Engineer/Program Manager in our Center for Advanced Imaging. This is an on-site position at our Princeton, NJ office.

SRI's Center for Advanced Imaging develops, fabricates, and delivers custom CMOS, CCD and Lidar imagers for commercial and government customers in the military, space and spectroscopy markets. We are looking for an engineer with a background in either imaging, mechanical, electrical, or electro-optic hardware development/fabrication who is looking to extend their role into Program Management.

Responsibilities

The Engineer/Program Manager position will utilize their knowledge of engineering to interact with the technical and management teams in managing all phases of programs from proposal through delivery.

Responsibilities will lean more towards the programmatic tasks involved with the successful day-to-day managing of a project such as managing costs, schedule, resources, and interaction with the client(s). Where applicable, some engineering tasks will also be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

    Primary interface with the customer on assigned program(s)
  • Ensure a continuous line of communication is kept open with the customer representatives to maintain a high level of program status awareness, provide timely recognition and resolution of problems, prevent surprises, and ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction
  • Interface with technical team to support the specifications, design, engineering, resources, and fabrication efforts on programs
  • Monitor, update, and report on program technical performance, cost, and schedule status
  • Prepare program budgets/forecasts/schedules and statements of work
  • Work with key team members for follow-on business and/or new business opportunities related to their respective program areas.
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate has at a minimum a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in hardware design/development/fabrication in a related technical industry.
  • Prior program management experience required
  • Experience in imager-based programs a plus
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or hold permanent resident status

The salary range is: $85,077.00-$126553.50. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
