Educational Testing Service Director, Product Management - TOEIC in Princeton, New Jersey

The Director Product Management for TOEIC oversees high revenue generating, and potentially multiple, ETS products and drives increased margins for products and contracts working closely with other FCEs. The incumbent will be the client facing escalation point and is accountable for effective implementation of products and services to clients. The Director Product Management reports either to a more senior Product Management leader or to a divisional business leader and may supervise one or more product management professionals depending on organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct the specification, development, and evolution of products that have been validated for a go-to-market, collecting input from external stakeholders and internal teams (Technology, Research, PID, Marketing, Sales) to build and prioritize new products, features, and investments.

  • Direct the development of product investment business cases and advocate for resources.

  • Design and execute the product strategy and roadmap through the entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration.

  • Direct the definition and prioritization of market and user segmentations. Coordinate market analysis, and other research and discovery

  • Lead competitive analysis to establish product positioning and feature differentiation.

  • Lead quantitative analysis on features’ performance and find opportunities for optimization.

  • Strategically identify platforms, products and product attributes that will improve the quality and efficiency of products.

  • Direct qualitative and quantitative research to discover feature ideas and validate them before development.

  • Act as a primary stakeholder to one ore more development scrum teams, working closely with the Product Owner(s) to deliver business requirements, validate the feature backlog and ensure an excellent user experience is delivered to customers.

  • Communicate information about complex concepts and projects in a digestible and persuasive manner based on your audience, sell innovative ideas, and prioritize across product portfolios.

  • Be responsible for hitting the key performance indicators you are entrusted with, including product P&L

  • Depending on the assignment, lead junior product managers in complex projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least eight years of Software Services Product Management experience for customer products over $100M.

  • Experience managing staff.

  • Undergraduate degree in related fields such as: Business Administration, Marketing or other areas combined with relevant work experience.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience generating outstanding results as a Software Services Product Manager at a high performing tech-enabled product company; Education industry preferred.

  • Experience leading a team of Product Managers

  • Working knowledge and experience with software product management and development approaches (Agile)

  • Ability to apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions.

  • Self-motivated with the proven ability to learn fast and be resourceful.

  • Enjoys and can demonstrate ability to work well in a highly matrixed, collaborative, creative and mission-driven environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong quantitative skills and a deep understanding of product funnels, data analytics,

  • A thirst for educational innovation, while being up-to-date with the latest trends, policies and best practices in education and product management
