Accounting/Finance Intern positions are available at various departments within our Prague Global Services hub across Medical Devices and the Pharmaceutical Sectors. Johnson & Johnson Global Services employs more than 3.000 employees across the globe in Human Resources, Finance and Procurement. The vision of Johnson & Johnson Global Services is “to be trusted business partners who deliver increasing value by creating and sustaining globally standard world-class services that enable the power of Johnson & Johnson.” Global Services in Prague is the Johnson & Johnson Service Centre in EMEA, and includes the Financial Accounting experts, delivering compliant financial services for J&J affiliates across the region

The Internship Program is a 50% part time one-year program focused on providing university students with practical business experience. It allows participants to develop leadership skills, broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and "get a taste of the real world" before they are fully committed to it. The Intern program is one of the primary feeders for entrance into Johnson & Johnson's Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP). The FLDP program is a 30-month program designed specifically to prepare and develop future generations of business leaders within the accounting & finance organization. FLDP participants will develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments at J&J business units, in-depth training, & ongoing coaching and feedback.

Position summary:

You will find yourself working alongside senior finance and accounting professionals who aim to collectively achieve timely and accurate reporting of EMEA commercial affiliates’ actual performance into our J&J consolidated results. You will be involved in accounting activities, supporting decision making in future resource investments, and will carry reporting and analytical responsibilities for financial information in your area. Internship program participant roles will be part of our process-based organization spanning various accounting fields such as lease, equity, revenue and inventory.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Learning and applying accounting standards and corporate financial policies

Performing closing activities - analysis, calculation and execution of accruals journal entries to fairly represent the financial statements for countries & process under scope.

Ensuring validation checks are in place and that processes are compliant and meet J&J’s internal controls.

Preparing of Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, remediation of unreconciled items and proper escalation in order to mitigate risks.

Collaborating with other Global Service Teams, either in Prague or in other global hubs, to resolve ad hoc issues or support standardization efforts.

Contributing to the identification, design and build of process efficiencies through the automation of appropriate reiterative tasks.

Advancing your own proficiency in digital tools and sharing this expertise with colleagues and peers

Qualifications

Requirements of the role:

2 years of degree level study completed

Accounting and Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Sciences and Business-related degree types preferred
