BluePearl Veterinary Sterile Supply Assistant in Portland, Oregon
BluePearl SW Portland is hiring a full-time Sterile Supply Assistant to join our Surgery team.
We are seeking Sterile Supple Assistant with a self-motivated, positive attitude to add to our surgical team. This person should be organized and focused on maintaining high quality instruments and patient care through sterile preparation.
As a Sterile Supply Assistant, you will:
Prepare instruments and operating room for surgery.
Troubleshooting and removing faulty equipment from service to submit for repair or replacement.
Maintaining appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment.
Decontaminating and cleaning operating rooms, sterile supply room and equipment according to established procedures.
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and wrapping packs
Serving as a resource/reference to surgical team with regards to surgical equipment.
The best candidates:
Enjoy patient care, including receiving/delivering patient rounds
Enjoy team collaboration in order to provide excellent medical care to our patients
Have a basic understanding of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation, sterilization process, orthographic radiographs/techniques, and bandaging technique/application

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
