Position Overview: Join our Planning and Development Department as an Assistant and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of our operations. This position involves handling moderately complex tasks within established laws and procedures, addressing public inquiries, verifying application completeness, and supporting office operations. While most tasks are standardized, you'll have the autonomy to plan and execute methods to achieve objectives. Attention to detail is crucial to avoid inaccuracies in reports or records.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
salary: $18 - $20 per hour

Responsibilities
Provide courteous assistance to the public regarding zoning and permitting processes.
Verify completeness of permit applications and enter information accurately into systems.
Manage routine office tasks including data entry, file management, and correspondence.
Maintain reliable tracking systems for electronic and hard copy files.
Assist in scheduling meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the director.
