Job Description:

Fluor Consultants BV is focusing on developing long term relationships with customers in revamping, debottlenecking and expanding the production capacity of their existing facilities in the process Industry in the South West of the Netherlands. The Bergen op Zoom, Rotterdam and Stein offices provide the full project execution services: from conceptual engineering through commissioning and construction support. We have the unique market capacity to offer integrated solutions to our clients. This includes fabrication, modularization and maintenance.

The process group is a dynamic team in which technology, process design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on process design and/or process control, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for a successful process engineer. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client’s organization and others disciplines in our taskforce is essential.

Process engineers take overall responsibility for the process and process control functionality for projects in the oil, gas and (petro-) chemical industry, renewable energy solutions, life science and advanced manufacturing. They work within a task force for the realization of multi-discipline projects in close cooperation with vendors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to perform engineering in all project phases of process design including feasibility studies, conceptual design, front-end design, detail engineering process design and plant commissioning. Work activities may include e.g. process studies, including process simulations, preparing heat and material balances, developing PFD’s and P&ID’s, preparing equipment data sheets, instrumentation data sheets, equipment lists, line lists and participating in and leading a variety of design reviews like HAZOP’s and SIL classifications..

For the function senior process engineer, the ability to supervise and act as mentor for a group of junior and intermediate level process engineers and the development of future talent through coaching and training is very important.

She/he must be able to prepare/maintain/review schedules, develop/monitor/review estimates and manpower forecasts for process engineering activities and distribute and assign work to other Process engineers.

She/he must be able to build and maintain client relationships in order to support the business development in the Rotterdam area as the successful candidate will be working closely with many client representatives throughout the whole client organization.
