McLaren Oakland is a 318-bed Trauma Level 2 hospital that provides primary and specialty healthcare services to the greater Pontiac and Oakland County, Michigan communities.
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at McLaren Oakland is a 16-bed unit. Our unit cares for a variety of patients requiring intensive rehabilitation services. Criteria for admission to the inpatient unit includes the ability to participate in 3 hours of OT / PT / and/or SLP therapy daily with the goal of achieving the highest level of independence upon discharge. Patients requiring cardiac monitoring are monitored via telemetry which is located in a central area and manned 24/7 with a telemetry technician. The unit is guided by standards established through Medicare and Medicaid Services and in October of 2022 successfully converted to the new Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument 4.0 (IRF-PAI).
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient/family centered care.
Responsibilities:
Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.
Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.
Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment, and professional development.
Required:
RN licensure
BCLS
ACLS for required for certain units.
Graduate of an approved school of Nursing
Preferred:
One year experience in department clinical specialty
BSN
