The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA in Abbott’s Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic-minded Operational Excellence Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement and sustain OpEx program through lean principles, Class A deployment, standardize OpEx model for Management Operating System (MOS), and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence by promoting a mindset of continuous learning and improvement within our organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of leadership, project management, and change manager skills, coupled with a deep understanding of operational processes and financial acumen across various departments.

What You’ll Work On

  • Strategize a 3-year plan based on the business priorities and alignment with the divisional BEx vision and initiatives. Ensure complete business alignment between OpEx and Ops/QA via site goals cascade, communication, metrics, etc.

  • Implement strategies to optimize and enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity and effectiveness across all departments.

  • Develop a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) portfolio and track the CIP saving glide.

  • Develop strong OpEx teams focused on driving results and challenging the status quo.

  • Act as a change agent, championing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement (line balancing & capacity modeling, cycle time, touch-time, takt Time, efficiency, VSM, etc.) throughout the organization.

  • Provide Green Belt training to team members to foster a culture of operational excellence.

  • Establish new and/or improve existing governance forums and information flow – MOS, KPIs, and CIP meetings with the proper escalation process.

  • Improve performance measurement systems through digitalized systems such as Power BI to track progress and analyze performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Advanced familiarity with Finance acumen and ROI knowledge

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Basic Stats and experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process improvement tools (confidence, reliability, normality, t-test, ANOVA, Pp, Ppk, Cp, Cpk, multi-variable modeling, regression, GR&R).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements is a plus.

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant certifications is a plus.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
