Job Title: Screed Operator - Plant City
Must have the following to apply:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 years working knowledge of screed operation on asphalt paver in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, highways, parking lots and other large job sites
- Valid Florida driver's license and ability to meet company MVR requirements
- Ability to complete all required paperwork
- Willing to work days, nights or weekends as needed
**Required Screenings: Drug Testing/Screening (Pre-Employment and Random); Background Checks (Local, State and Federal history check); Motor Vehicle Record.
Job Description: The company is seeking to fill a Screed Operator position for the Plant City operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Requires observation of distribution of paving material along the screed and control of the screed to eliminate voids at curbs and joints
- Set up screed electronics in conjunction with the paver operator
- Perform normal adjustments for obtaining depth, grade and finished cross-section of asphalt material via screed control
- Estimates overall quantity needed for the project and quantity needed for the correct grade in the finished surface
- Requires an understanding of all aspects of paving industry including, but not limited to prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, job specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving
- Perform light mechanical adjustments and to assist with mechanic repairs on assigned equipment
- Follow safe practices and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
