Your Role at Raising Cane’s:

The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing income tax returns. This role supports the Senior Tax Accountant and Director of Tax with the income tax function and ensures the integrity of accounting practices within the organization.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains income tax compliance by preparing and filing income tax returns

  • Analyzes fixed assets for tax savings and assists with the quarterly tax provision process

  • Processes returns for income tax, property tax, and sales tax, as needed

  • Maintains tax calendars and estimated payment deadlines for income tax filings

  • Assists with property tax process and compliance deliverables

  • Collaborates with the broader accounting team on tax related projects

  • Fulfills requests from outside tax consultants for tax related projects

Requirements for Success:

  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing

  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively

  • Passionate about tax and developing an understanding of how tax impact Raising Cane’s

  • Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Experience with state and local income tax compliance for multistate entities

  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax department

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
