Your Role at Raising Cane’s:

The Regional Director of Construction leads a regional construction team consisting of multiple managers, coordinators, and a diverse group of external resources. This team oversees all company restaurant construction related activities/projects and ensures that all restaurants are constructed in accordance with the approved construction drawings and brand expectation.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:

• Applies effective techniques and analysis to provide needed resources inside and outside the company

• Coaches and sets clear expectations of success for all crew and external resources

• Manages the details including schedules, forecasts, cost controls and turnover quality

• Understands and fully supports restaurant success and restaurant operations

• Applies effective techniques to develop and maintain communication with all parties

• Understands, values and supports the critical execution of the development turnover process

• Drives all resources to deliver needs that support restaurant schedule, cost and quality expectations

• Reviews project specific documents & contracts to fully comprehend project requirements and details

• Works with real estate, design and property development teams to determine project specific scope

• Oversees development of construction project estimates/budgets

• Responsible for development of proposed master schedules (including milestone events)

• Manages construction document review & approval

• Conducts constructability reviews (coordination with design professionals)

• Oversees bid review/qualification and final contract preparation/recommendation

• Monitors all general contractors’ construction performance and accountability

• Ensures that crew visits restaurants under construction at specific milestone events to confirm compliance with schedule & quality expectations

• Develops and maintains construction and equipment vendor relationships

• Reviews and recommends approval of general contractor pay applications

• Applies effective data analysis to provide timely assessment of results including targeting, recommending and implementing opportunities for improvement

• Prepares and maintains all pipeline & construction status reports

• Initiates and executes a long-term value engineering program

• Conducts weekly status update meeting with construction team and contractors/vendors

• Manages the entire construction process and establish a network of effective monitoring, communication and reporting tactics

• Develops clear expectations and holds all parties accountable to achieve them. Consistently sets the example and tone for the Team

• Coaches, mentors, and develops crewmembers to achieve company goals and expectations

• Enforces guidelines for controlling and monitoring project costs (budget) during all phases of a project

• Plans, schedules, coordinates & monitors crewmembers to achieve on-time completion within expected quality and budget

• Implements, monitors and documents a system of policies and ensures the project and its components meet Raising Cane’s expectations, objectives and standards

Requirements for Success

• 10+ years Restaurant Construction related experience

• 5+ years of Construction Team Member management experience

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required (construction, architecture or engineering)

• Advance knowledge of Lucernex, Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar, and PowerPoint

• 40% Travel (sometimes more depending on construction activities)

• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing

• Strong decision-making capabilities and able to deliver within tight deadlines

• Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
