Your Role at Raising Cane’s:

The responsibility of the Director of Business Intelligence (BI) is to provide the vision and leadership for the development, execution, support, and maintenance of the company’s business intelligence systems. This role partners with crewmembers at all levels of the organization to ensure the BI platform and tools are contemporary, relevant, and aligned with the company’s current objectives and future goals. This role challenges the status quo and consistently seeks opportunities to innovate, re-engineer processes and re-architect solutions to maximize security, reliability, scalability, availability, and supportability. This will be accomplished through passionate and purposeful situational leadership, inspiration, mentoring, and building out a team of IT professionals executing initiatives through disciplined project management.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the implementation of selected data mining and analysis tools

  • Leads and manages the ongoing support and maintenance of our next generation BI platform (Snowflake on AWS, SnapLogic, AtScale, and Tableau), ETL, quality assurance, DW Architecture, consultants, software versions and licensing

  • Develops and executes tactical and strategic technology plans and multi-year roadmaps for BI systems through collaboration and counsel with the business teams, senior management, and IT Leadership

  • Helps build a team of technology professionals by providing inspirational situational management and professional coaching, mentorship, and development of direct reports

  • Collaborates with IT and business partners to assess, prioritize, allocate, and focus resources to production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of services and solutions aligned with business objectives

  • Institutionalizes disciplined frameworks for processes, system architecture, and procedures in accordance with departmental structures and industry/product best practices to ensure consistency in execution

  • Engages, leverages, and effectively manages vendors and platform providers through building strong collateral relationships and applying skilled negotiating skills

  • Analyzes and predicts BI platform and tool trends and develop long-range plan designed to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness of the enterprise’s BI infrastructure and systems

  • Establishes team processes and procedures to ensure on-time, high quality delivery, and highly available systems

  • Supports system administration, implementation, development, selection, and maintenance of BI systems as necessary

  • Researches and implements course of action to prevent system/security problems and maintain compliance where needed

  • Manages selection of new systems where appropriate, including preparing RFP’s, analyzing proposals, selecting services, and managing information technology providers

  • Manages outsourced and hosted infrastructure, platforms, and/or services

  • Manages metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery

  • Communicates team and project statuses to IT and Raising Cane’s leadership

Requirements for Success:

  • 10+ years of experience of organic growth within Information Technology with at least five years of demonstrated success in a senior leadership position in mid to large sized organizations

  • Significant Data Warehouse, complex SQL coding, ETL development, and management experience required

  • Data analytic platform professional certifications or significant experience required

  • Tableau and Snowflake on AWS experience required. Snaplogic and AtScale experience highly desirable.

  • Significant experience leveraging strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills within Information Technology disciplines including software engineering, design and development, package solution evaluation/selection and implementation, integration, business process re-engineering, IT governance, technical architecture, security, and disaster recovery planning

  • Significant experience selecting, implementing, supporting, and managing third party vendors

  • Demonstrated information technology data architecture and data warehouse design skills

  • Demonstrated leadership with proven ability to manage, grow, and develop strong IT teams and individuals

  • Exceptional project planning & management skills; experience in organizing, planning, and executing significant projects from vision through implementation leveraging structured systems development and project management methodologies

  • Strong process discipline and experience in defining business requirements and the process of translating them into well engineered and integrated technical solutions and architectures.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including teamwork, communication, collaboration, and leadership.

  • Ability to work directly with business and IT teams to establish consensus, manage conflict, shape technology strategy and drive change.

  • Required desire and capability to work hands on with all parts of the BI environment, and subsequently build a team of technology professionals as the company grows.

  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences; ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and promotes understanding by not over complicating.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus.

  • Degree in computer science, information systems or computer engineering strongly preferred

  • Restaurant and/or retail IT experience is a plus
