UPMC Senior Manager, Compliance - Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Senior Manager, Compliance to support the Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation!

Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation (MWRIF) is the largest independent women’s health research organization in the country. The organization is engaged in cutting-edge research around the world. As a free-standing 501(C)3 non-profit entity, MWRIF is required to comply with a variety of laws, statutes, regulations, and policies and the Senior Compliance Manager will enhance the organization’s commitment to compliance.

This position will work daylight hours with a hybrid work arrangement. This role will work primarily remote. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

Key areas of focus for the Senior Manager, Compliance include compliance with terms and conditions prescribed by federal grants, institution-wide conflict of interest implementation and monitoring, regulatory compliance, and other related topics. As a member of MWRIF’s leadership team, the Senior Manager, Compliance will play an integral role in implementing, developing, and monitoring organization-wide compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops Policies & Procedures to support the mission of MWRIF.

  • Develops and provides training for the organization.

  • Implement a robust Compliance Office to address allegations of member discrimination, internal and external allegations of misconduct and non-compliance.

  • Implement, monitor, track reporting requirement to verify success of the Compliance Office, as measured by assessments and metric based analysis.

  • Interact with MWRIF’s investigators to proactively address compliance-related topics and questions

  • Remain up-to-date with all relevant laws, statutes, and policies and translate into actionable plans for MWRIF

· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or JD preferred.

· Minimum of five years of compliance experience with increasingly progressive responsibility required.

o Three to five years of strong investigation with experience in leading investigations required.

o Experience with federal grants, primarily those supported by the National Institutes of Health and a keen interest in women’s health preferred.

· Superb attention to detail and well-developed written and verbal communication skills preferred.
