Reference #: 2021480 The Heinz College Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Program is a national fellowship sought at promoting the inclusion and full participation of underrepresented groups in public service and to advance their leadership roles throughout our civic institutions serving domestic and international affairs.

The Heinz College provides thirty undergraduate students from across the country with the opportunity to develop skills needed for admission into the nation's top policy programs. This seven-week program focuses on intensive training through coursework in policy, economics, statistics, and technology. Students also participate in co-curricular activities that include connecting to the community, leadership and wellness workshops, speaker series and exploring Pittsburgh.

We are searching for an intern to join our team. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support to this program and aid with co-curricular programming. This internship role will report directly to the Senior Administrative & Event Coordinator of DICE/Student Affairs.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Lead coordination of PPIA Social and professional development activities: Take charge of planning and implementing various initiatives within the PPIA program.

Guide a cohesive student community: Cultivate strong and encouragingrelationships among all PPIA students from underrepresented backgrounds, enhancing inclusivity and belonging with your own diverseperspective.

Provide oversight for PPIA Events: Personally attend and lead all aspects of all PPIA events, ensuring their smooth operation and adherence to program standards.

Participate in the summer Washington, DC trip: Engage actively in the PPIA summer trip to Washington, DC.

Develop resource guide and weekly event updates: Build and maintain a comprehensive resource guide along with weekly updates highlighting upcoming events and opportunities relevant to PPIA students.

Host weekly check-in sessions: Prioritize regular check-in hours to provide students with a dedicated forum for discussions, support, and feedback on their experiences within the program.

Assist with program orientation and graduation: Play a generous role in program orientation sessions and chip in with the organization and execution of graduation ceremonies for program participants.

Qualifications:

Enrolled graduate student

Experience with event management, organization, and student support

Curiosity about higher education and/or DEI student programming
