UPMC Clinical Administrator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

This position is responsible for the leadership, direction, and clinical/administrative management. This includes overseeing the daily operations/coordination of the various tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and leadership regarding job responsibilities, performance evaluations, recruitment, selection, orientation, promotions, discipline, and all other issues relevant for staff.

  • Provide direction and leadership regarding standards of clinical practice as defined by the department and the organization

  • Participate in the development of yearly budgets for all accounts under the direction of the department head.

  • Responsible for overseeing the identification of learning needs staff, monitoring and maintaining staff certifications and training requirements, and maintaining regular, ongoing involvement in continuing education, staff development activities, and training.

  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of work schedules for staff in accordance with the clinical demands and operations.

  • Responsible for monitoring all elements of program operations for efficiency, productivity, feasibility and internal consistency.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all service lines and facilities internal and external to the UPMC system.

  • Participate in the development and review clinical and administrative policies and make recommendations according to department and organizational objectives, rules, and regulations.

  • Adhere to the ANA Standards for Nursing, the ANA professional Code for Nurses, WPIC Standards of Practices, Care and Performance, Nursing Policies and procedures, Clinical Service Manual Policies and Procedures and the Nurse Practice Act.

  • Oversee the development, monitoring, and reporting of all quality improvement activities.

  • Participate in the formulation goals and objectives and recommend strategies for achieving them.

  • Provide coverage for Unit Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or masters degree in nursing, psychology, social work, education or equivalent.

  • Masters preferred with one-year relevant clinical experience in psychiatric setting

  • or RN with a minimum of five years relevant clinical experience and a minimum of five years management experience a in psychiatric setting.

  • CPR certification required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
