Honeywell Principal Project Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

The Power Systems Change Board Chair is a new position within the Power Systems Engineering team. The Change Board Chair is a leadership role that requires the successful candidate to help architect and manage the change board process. The role requires a person who is a self-starter and can manage complex problems in a systematic and orderly way. The role is intended to improve the planning and execution of engineering projects driven by supplier transitions and other product improvement needs. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work out of our location in Phoenix, AZ on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of our Aerospace business by driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, and delivering high-quality results in the aerospace industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Focal Point for all Power System incoming work requests

-Coordination of weekly change board meetings in conjunction with IRB meetings

-Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

-Assure project funding streams and engineering resource demand is loaded correctly

-Provide technical guidance and support to aerospace project team members

-Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success

Travel less than - 10%

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

-At least 10 years of demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a dynamic multi-functional environment

-Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic aerospace environment

-Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including change and risk management

-Passion for innovation and continuous learning in the aerospace industry

-Attention to detail and ability to prioritize aerospace tasks effectively

-Business acumen – knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry such as Agile project management

-Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining gas turbine engines

-Executive level communication and presentations
