Honeywell Lead Systems Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona
This position is to support the development of Honeywell’s Electric Power Generators and Motors. You will be responsible for providing expertise as a team member or team leader for a variety of Engineering support tasks/activities including, data identification and processing, technical documentation, program, or project support. Leads small project subtask teams to achieve task compliance and completion. Plan cross functional activities in order to advance work processes and procedures. Mentors lower-level employees
Key Responsibilities
Leads the engineering effort to design electric generators and motors used in the aerospace industry, coordinating electromagnetic analysis, mechanical and electrical design, and test efforts to develop and qualify products
Focal for system level integration efforts of the machine into the larger system. Works with both internal Honeywell groups and at the customer level
Primary customer communication focal for technical questions
Leads electric generator and motors Validation and Verification Activities, including compliance matrix creation and verification methodology
Creates plans for research, development, and qualification testing with regards to electric machine development programs
Supports new business proposal activities
Supports fielded product RCCA activities
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
8-15 years professional experience in Engineering
WE VALUE
Experience in the design and analysis of high-speed electric motors and generators. Knowledge of rotating electrical machines such as generators and rotors, synchronous or wound-field permanent magnet motors
Experience leading the technical effort for development programs
Ability to prepare requirements specifications, technical reports, technical proposals, trade studies, subassembly and parts levels and presentations is required.
Familiar with military and commercial aircraft specifications.
Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
Ability to work in a fast-changing environment
Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
