We are currently seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialistto join our headquarters inPhiladelphia, PA. Position Summary The Payroll & Accounting Specialist will primarily be responsible for processing all aspects of payroll and will work closely with all departments to enhance the accuracy and completeness of information. This position will also provide support to our AP Specialist, particularly assisting with expense report processing as well as special projects. The specialist must pay close attention to detail, maintain a high level of accuracy and adhere to strict deadlines.  The Payroll & Accounting Specialist is a confident, highly motivated, problem-solving, multi-tasking individual who works well in a fast-paced environment. Tasks may vary weekly based on department needs; however, primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Payroll: Assist the Payroll Specialist with the bi-weekly processing of payroll for a multi-state organization with 300 + employees. Ensure timely, accurate and compliant delivery and quality of payroll. Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings. Partner with managers to champion the timely and accurate submission of timecards for payroll processing and client billing. Generate payroll reports. Post payroll journal entries. Address employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and taxes. Initiate fund transfers and reconciliations. Maintain knowledge of payroll processing systems as well as changes in tax laws and reporting requirements. Correspond with federal, state, and local tax agencies as needed. Assist with various payroll related accruals and reconciliations. Support internal and external payroll audits. Complete special assignments. Accounts Receivable & Payable: Assist the Accounting Specialist in reviewing, approving, and processing expense reports. Respond to employee or vendor inquiries. Processing invoices accurately and timely, ensuring the appropriate approvals are secured. Maintaining accurate and organized records and be prepared to provide documentation for external audits. Reconcile company credit card expenditures. Complete special assignments. Education and Experience Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years payroll or accounting experience. A minimum of an Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, customer service, and time management skills. Experience working with UKG (UltiPro) and/or Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
