Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatrics with a focus on infectious diseases, as well as expertise in designing and conducting research studies. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board Certified/Board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include Clinical and research education of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers within the Division, Department, School of Medicine, and Research Institute.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient consultation on general and immunocompromised infectious diseases (ID) services as well as outpatient care in the general ID, oncology-ID, and neurology-ID clinics. Additionally, as CHOP expands its footprint (i.e., King of Prussia Hospital, potential sites in NJ) and the Division of Infectious Diseases partners with outside organizations, some local travel may be required.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include Clinical, translational, global health, community-based, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion focused research related to infectious diseases in children, adolescents, and young adults.

It is expected that the successful candidate will develop and maintain a strong research portfolio within the division’s existing robust clinical research program. Applicants must be interested in serving as a research mentor to fellows and instructors, and eventually to newly appointed assistant professors.

Excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Additional masters-level or higher training in a research discipline (e.g. epidemiology) is desired.
