The Role

The m ain pu r po se o f the Repairs & Upgrades Engineer will be t o monitor and control Repairs & Upgrades Contracts from the tendering stage through to the final shipment. This includes project management of allocated repair and engineered solution projects to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The role will also be responsible for the improvement of lead times, customer satisfaction and financial margin of Repairs and Engineered Solutions through continued process improvements. Finally, the Repair & Upgrades Engineer will take accountability for financial reporting of contracts to all areas of the business.

What you will do...

Identify customer solutions:

  • Ensure the Company fully understands the customer requirements and resolve any gaps between requirements and potential solutions.

  • Based on customer requirements, prepare quotations and cost make-ups for the complete scope of supply in-house manufactured and bought-out equipment and / or services.

Delivery of customer solutions:

  • Working closely with colleagues on the delivery of Repairs and Engineered Solutions projects. This includes various departments in the execution phase; from the workshop, machine shop and fabrication shop for example. Checking resource availability, schedules and monitoring progress throughout the process.

  • Liaise with other areas of the business to ensure we can meet customer requirements and to resolve issues that may prevent us from meeting our customer’s expectations. This includes various departments such as Engineering, Tech Support, Production Engineering and the Planning team.

  • To manage contract processing and documentation, including:

  • Tender calculation sheets

  • Quotations

  • PO review and booking onto the system,

  • BOM generation sheets,

  • Quality Plan generation,

  • Releasing operation or purchase demand lines,

  • Job work pack support to include checklists, specifications, drawings, manual detail etc,

  • Schedule / plan creation and updates

  • Packing notes for shipment etc.

  • Inspection and completion report generation

  • Financial Forecasting

  • Daily updates for internal and external use

  • Logistics coordination and requests

  • Invoice request processing

  • When necessary to manage the handover of major Repair projects to the project management team

  • Provide an agreed number of weeks (maximum 5 weeks) out of office for on call support to FSE’s. Paid an as additional amount to the basic salary of the role.

  • Liaise with sub-contractors and third parties for engagement of tasks and activities on the contracts

  • Oversee Safety & Quality expectations and standards.

  • Financial monitoring, forecasting, reporting of costs and margins

What do you bring...

An ideal candidate would likely have the following experience…

  • Minimum Level 3 Apprenticeship in an Engineering subject or equivalent qualification / experience. Rotating Equipment experience is highly desirable.

  • Good technical knowledge of similar products and the processes to manufacture them.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and written communication skills

  • Very good project and documentation management skills

  • You need to be highly responsive with a customer focused attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced environment

  • Operating Excellence – demonstrates pride, passion and workmanship, always works safely and seeks to improve processes, develop skills and share knowledge

  • Team Spirit – Ability to communicate and build productive relationships as a good team member, puts the needs and results of the team before his/her own self-interest.

  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products.
