As the Rental Used Equipment Manager at Caterpillar Inc., you will lead and optimize the region’s sales and operations planning process, manage the sales funnel, and oversee department budgeting. You will drive site performance by tracking metrics and supporting regional and product group initiatives through detailed business planning and reporting. Your role will be pivotal in achieving annual business goals, increasing rental revenue, and promoting dealer operational excellence. You will also lead technology-enabled solutions projects, ensuring dealer readiness and the effective execution of new and existing dealer and service models. Additionally, you will manage a team of 8-10 representatives focused on growing dealer rental revenue, enhancing dealer engagement, and expanding business through unused equipment and contract service sales.

What You Will Do:

  • Achieve annual business plan goals with a primary metric to drive rental revenue growth, and promote dealer operational excellence in heavy rents, fostering teamwork and collaboration both internally and externally.

  • Manage a team of 8-10 representatives focused on growing dealer rental revenue, enhancing dealer engagement, and increasing business through unused equipment and contract service sales.

  • Lead the region’s sales and operations planning process (S&OP), manage the sales funnel, and oversee department budgeting, including budget construction and monthly tracking.

  • Drive site performance by tracking metrics and initiatives and support regional and product group OPPAC initiatives through detailed business planning and reporting.

  • Lead and execute technology-enabled solution projects, ensuring dealer readiness and the effective review, validation, and execution of new and existing dealer and service models.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Strategic Thinking: Advanced strategic thinking skills to drive and optimize regional sales and operations planning at a senior level.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive experience in high-stakes decision making and critical thinking for managing complex budgets and enhancing site performance.

  • Relationship Management: Proficient leading and developing diverse teams across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and alignment towards common objectives. Demonstrated ability to understand and respect cultural differences is crucial for effective global leadership.

  • Negotiations/ Value Selling: Proven expertise in high-level negotiations and value selling to significantly boost rental revenue and dealer engagement.

Top Candidates Will Have :

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, fostering collaboration and alignment across diverse stakeholders to drive strategic cost improvement initiatives forward. Demonstrated ability to engage directly with senior leaders and present data-based recommendations to drive consensus and action.

  • Expertise in nurturing technical and leadership development of regional teams through effective mentorship and career planning. Must foster a culture of continuous learning, ensuring the growth and success of individual contributors and managers.

  • Understanding of the equipment rental business and ability to support profitable rental revenue growth with dealers.

Additional Info :

  • Location: Dallas, TX or Peoria, IL

  • Domestic relocation will be provided to those who qualify.

  • 50% domestic and international travel is expected.

  • ISE assignments are not available.
