TEL Staffing Staff Accountant in Pensacola, Florida

We are looking for a full timeStaff Accountant in Pensacola, FLto manage all financial transactions from payroll, fixed payment and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. This role requires an energetic, bright, creative and goal-oriented individual to perform the job well. The Accountant is responsible for auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, calculating tax payments and returns, and creating a comprehensive set of controls that enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Recordkeeping o Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledgers o Ensure timely bank payments o Manage all accounting transactions by reviewing accounts payable and receivable for discrepancies and make adjusting journal entries o Reinforce financial data confidentially and conduct database backups when necessary Financial Reporting o Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) o Publish financial statements and reports on time o Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings o Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts o Report to management about asset utilization and audit results, the companys financial health and liquidity, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities Financial Analysis o Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses o Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts payable records to ensure accuracy o Address any discrepancies and issues as they arise o Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity Budgets and Forecasting o Prepare budget forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making o Assist in the creation and management of budgets Audit Support o Audit financial transactions and documents for efficiency and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions o Collaborate with auditors and assist in preparation of audit materials and response to audit inquires Compliance and Policies o Stay up to date with accounting principles and relevant regulations o Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures o Comply with financial policies and regulations

Qualifications: Education and Experience:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or 3+ years of experience in the accounting/finance field, or any similar combined of education and experience. Proficiency with Quickbooks and Freshbooks, as well as, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Advanced MS excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups. Thorough knowledge of account principals, best practice and financial regulations, including GAAP.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently is required.
