Job Description:

Quality Assurance Representative III (Mechanical)

GDIT is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspection, with a focus on precision measurement and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

HOW A QUALITY ASSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical and machined components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.

  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.

  • Document inspection results and generate detailed reports.

  • Communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • 3+ years of related experience.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, surface plates, and optical comparators.

  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • NDT experience a plus.

  • Machinist experience is highly valued.

  • US Citizenship Required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $21.97 - $26.45. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
