Vectrus Senior Program Engineer - TS/SCI Clearance in Patuxent River, Maryland

We have an opportunity for a Program Engineer Senior to provide support for a cutting edge classified weapons system acquisition program. The candidate will support the government Program Manager in coordinating all technical activities of the program office and interface with prime contractor senior technical management and government technical support organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of classified advanced development research and development (R&D) programs.

  • Work with customers to define new capabilities, define gaps, derive requirements, develop program objectives, and derive required operational capabilities. Develop project task descriptions, specifications, integrated roadmaps, detailed schedules and program budgets.

  • Develop acquisition and technical documentation including statements of work, performance work statements, and specifications. Analyze contractor proposals as permitted by law and regulation.

  • Coordinate technical reviews, data analysis and reports, and monitor and report team and contract status/execution. Facilitate customer engagement and project management throughout the design, engineering, integration, test and program execution process. Develop, execute, monitor and report status on multiple assigned project task efforts.

  • Serve as the systems engineer for team project technical execution, coordination, risk management and communication of concerns and issues with program management and technical leadership.

  • Coordinate functions between government and contractor project leads and engineers along with the operational subject matter experts, warfighters, and military leaders involved in program planning and execution.

  • Support and provide insight to determine the effectiveness of project execution and recommend modifications to task processes for future project activities or design reviews.

  • Work with the Project Management and Task Lead(s) to develop out year planning for future capabilities, and provide input to roadmaps for analysis, risk reduction, development and integration of advanced capabilities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline in line with the above functional description from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education.

    Clearance Requirement:

  • A current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Federal Investigative Standard Tier 5 (TS) or Tier 5 Reinvestigation (TSR)

  • A final Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance.

  • Eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

    Travel Requirement:

  • Significant travel at least 10%

    Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of experience with one or more of the following areas: Weapon Systems, Mission Planning Systems, Avionics Systems, Survivability Analysis, and Program Management.

  • Two (2) years of experience coordinating operations across multiple organizational boundaries.

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a classified program security environment.

    Skills:

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
