Naval Air Systems Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Patuxent River, Maryland

Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics Management Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. As the MH-60R/S Lead Avionics Deputy Assistant Program Manager For Logistics (DAPML) you will be responsible for total logistics management in support of the MH-60R/S Avionics IPT and the MH-60R/S Program Office located at Patuxent River, MD. Responsibilities You will develop and review program technical documentation and provide input and direction on all logistics/maintenance issues and requirements. You will develop and implement product support and maintenance concepts/requirements for assigned systems to achieve program goals and objectives with minimum life cycle costs. You will plan and execute logistics efforts to ensure all aspects of the total systems life-cycle (i.e. acquisition and sustainment) are in place to meet program requirements and implement a plan of action and milestones of the logistics program. You will assist in the development and management of contract requirements (i.e. statements of work and contract data requirements) to support systems engineering/acquisition phases. You will participate in the Configuration Management Process by reviewing and submitting all associated documentation of MH-60R/S Avionics Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Configuration Control Boards (CCB) Presentations and Technical Directives. You will participate in risk management processes and early identification of system integration risks. You will establish a robust total cost of ownership effort and develop affordable readiness initiatives, where appropriate, to reduce life-cycle costs. You will provide analyses on degraders and data gathered from logistics management information systems in the execution of logistics and program planning documentation. You will interface with DOD, OPNAV, other services/agencies, supply chain managers, the Fleet, Fleet Support Team (FST), field activities, test and evaluation organizations, and contractors in performance of duties and in the resolution of issues. You will represent MH-60R/S Avionics IPT at the ILS Working Groups, Logistics Products and Process Reviews, Integrated Logistics Assessments, Milestone Reviews, Maintenance Working Groups, etc., in support of the program. You will prepare and/or deliver presentations to customers/stakeholders in order to address support posture and justify logistics requirements. You will defend necessary modifications to previously approved plans to ensure program objectives are met. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Developing and reviewing program technical and mission documentation and providing authoritative input and direction on all logistics/maintenance issues and requirements; (2) Participating in the design and development of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications; (3) Recommending feasible design and alternatives to acquisition engineers and managers for systems with poor maintainability features or which are unsupportable; (4) Performing cost analysis and life cycle costing studies for assigned systems while developing and approving logistics maintenance requirements analyses; and (5) Directing the performance of logistics and maintenance analyses by the contractor and justifying requirements for new support facilities and planning the activation of system support sites.
