Job Title: Buyer -

Overview: As a Buyer in the CPG Industry, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, selecting, and purchasing toys and related products to meet the demands of our company's market and customers. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure the procurement process is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's objectives. This role requires a keen understanding of market trends, negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Selection:

  • Identify potential suppliers and manufacturers for toy products.

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, product quality, and reliability.

  • Source new and innovative toys to meet consumer demands and market trends.

  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.

  • Negotiation:

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to secure advantageous deals while maintaining product quality and delivery schedules.

  • Manage supplier relationships to foster long-term partnerships and ensure mutual benefits.

  • Procurement:

  • Create purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of toy products to meet inventory needs.

  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.

  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to facilitate smooth product deliveries.

  • Quality Control:

  • Work with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for toy products.

  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.

  • Address any quality issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

  • Forecasting and Planning:

  • Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast demand for toy products.

  • Develop procurement plans and strategies to meet sales targets and inventory goals.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align procurement efforts with promotional activities and product launches.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.

  • Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. (Preferred)

  • Proven experience as a buyer or procurement specialist, preferably in the toy industry or consumer goods sector.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with procurement software.

  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.

  • Understanding of quality control processes and standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
