Description

Our client located near Parsippany NJ has a great opportunity for a Project Accountant to join their growing team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee project contracts, manage project cycles, support project managers, and provide monthly project performance insights.

• Maintain project records, ensure correct project setup, and follow project close out checklist.

• Monthly Billing and maintenance of accounts payables, creating and posting invoices, and follow up on consultant billing and budget issues.

• Set up rates and fees and investigate unbilled project expenses.

• Run monthly and quarterly reports, assist with year-end report preparation, and perform account and timesheet reconciliations.

• Review and manage timesheet approvals.

Candidates should be familiar with Deltek Vantagepoint and have experience in managing project resources, budgets, and work plans. They should also have strong skills in accounts payable, expense management, and reporting.

Requirements

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Project Coordination experience preferred

• Strong familiarity with General Accounting

• Project accounting experience desired

• Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

• Proficient in ERP systems, DELTEK required

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
