Barilla Industrialization Food Technologist in Parma, Italy

Barilla G. & R. Fratelli is looking for an Industrialization Food Technologist - Global CoE Industrialization Pasta Professional , within the Globale CoE Industrialization Pasta Unit. The position will report to the Global CoE Industrialization Pasta Senior Manager and it will be based in our Headquarters in Parma.

Job Purpose

The person will be responsible to guarantee products’ competitive superiority ensuring consistent performances . He/she will be responsible to define and deliver: new products’ Industrialization, Design to Value Projects, existing products maintenance, restyling, upgrading and relocation projects for the Pasta Categories via existing processes development but also continuous improvement activities. He/she will manage the existing lines' process capability statistical monitoring, the design of new lines’ process/technology specifications for the capacity increase projects and industrial delivery of new/innovative processes/products developed by Group RDQ in order to ensuring start up delivery to meet RCA KPIs. On the product’s categories assigned, develop and spread existing and new processes knowledge, supporting manufacturing facilities in maintaining competitive advantage on quality and productivity.

The person will be responsible for the artwork process for all the existing products and support new products’ Industrialization, existing products maintenance, restyling, upgrading and relocation projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage design and execution of new products production start up, co-operating with Product Development and Operations to deliver the expected product quality in compliance with target timing and COGP (Cost of Good Produced).

  • Define Process Specifications for the assigned categories, guaranteeing a constant update and consistency across plants, ensuring existing products specifications update and approval.

  • Define the best production line for all pasta products to ensure the Hight quality and standard

  • Define and fix the process line parameter (i.e productivity)

  • ​​Lead the implementation, in co-operation with Purchasing, and qualification of new copacker/plant, in line with internal requirements and existing procedures and supervise the qualification process of the new copacker​

  • Design and implement Design To Value projetcs, identifying areas of improvement through a constant involvement of SC, Marketing and R&D.

  • Manage capacity increase projects in case of new Lines design to ensure productivity and quality KPIs delivery from the ideation to the industrial start-up phase.

  • Ensure existing manufacturing lines process capability statistical monitoring, in coordination with the local Q&T Manager, to guarantee product standards delivery and, in case of deviations, implement specific recovery programs (lines revamping and substitution).

  • Lead existing processes' continuous improvement programs to improve lines’ efficiencies and products’ quality, managing existing processes and technologies competence growth and spreading process continuous improvement culture through central functions (RDQ and SC) and manufacturing units.

  • ​​Along the global labelling process and approval artwork manage product information and approval ​

  • ​​Manage existing products maintenance, upgrading and restyling coordinating Products Specifications and Bill of Materials update and approval on the Company Product Lifecycle Management platform (Enovia) guaranteeing interfaces to the Corporate ERP system (SAP).​

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Processing, Food Technology or related fields;

  • At least 5 years in Food Processing/ Food Engineering/ Pasta Product/Process development;

  • Fluency in Italian and in English;

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience would be a plus ;

  • Can-do attitude ;
