A Brief Overview

The Interventional Platform Vendor Room Coordinator is responsible for assisting, maintaining, and coordinating the receiving and return of all loaner trays for surgical procedures.

What you will do

  • Initiates problem-solving techniques on a timely basis.

  • Actively monitors consigned SPD trays for out of stocks and works with the vendors of consigned trays to ensure they are replenished expeditiously.

  • Actively reviews surgical schedules in advance to confirm the arrival and appropriate processing of vendor trays for safe patient care.

  • Receives, inventories, labels, checks-in, returns and accounts for usage of loaned instrumentation.

  • Validates cases created in the loaner tracking software against the operating room schedule to ensure accuracy.

  • Provides technical skills as a member of the SPD team to ensure that each tray and instrument meets accreditation standards facilities must follow to ensure that items are safe to use on patients.

  • Serves as a resource for Sterile Processing, Perioperative Services, and Purchasing stakeholders when planning for inventory expansion or set conversion from loaner to consignment.

  • Utilizes the SPD information system appropriately for tasks and adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures; serves as a resource for regulatory standards and leading industry practices.

  • Collaborates with SPD designee to ensure accuracy of instrument related data, such as instrument description, vendor assignment, product numbers, images, and/or special instructions.

  • Assists with obtaining manufacturer’s instructions for use as needed for all loaner instrumentation being brought in for use or planned for deployment. Collaborates with SPD information systems analyst and SPD Educator to ensure availability of information to staff.

  • Provides staff training, education, and support as appropriate to the objectives of the educational program.

  • May perform other duties as needed as it relates to vendor loaner trays or vendor consigned trays.

  • Carries out all responsibilities in a pleasant, courteous and cooperative manner.

  • Conducts all communication (verbal and written) in an effective, accurate, courteous manner.

  • Contributes in a positive manner to the unit, department and hospital goals.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Associate's Degree, Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.

  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.

  • Ability to solve problems and identify solutions.

  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

  • Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $37.30 - $42.01 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
