Amazon Japan is looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join us as Fulfillment (FC) Finance Manager of the West Region. This position will lead finance and controllership efforts for our dynamic and rapidly growing West region fulfillment network, and will be responsible for helping to drive cost and process improvement, with scope covering variable and fixed costs of the FCs. The Finance Manager will also provide key decision-making support to FC site leaders, regional directors, and other business partners and stakeholders, and navigate strategic decisions in the FC network. The regional manager will lead a team of financial analysts.

The successful candidate should have the ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects, and have demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, and problem-solve. For this position, a track record of management and development of teams is required.

Key job responsibilities

· Ensuring exceptional controllership, including overseeing the monthly close process, ensuring proper controls are in place to protect the Company’s assets, and auditing data to ensure its accuracy

· Owning the preparation of the annual operating plan, and managing reviews to track and update progress against the plan

· Guiding the business team in planning and executing new initiatives including ROI and investment cases

· Championing technology and automation improvements for the finance function, including participating in the implementation of new operational tools

· Continuously seeking out opportunities for customer experience improvements and cost reduction, and partner with operations leadership to implement the opportunities.

· Managing and mentoring a team of financial analysts, leading the team and guiding team member career development

A day in the life

You are the CFO of the West region FCs. On any given day, you may be helping your business partners assess the financial impacts of initiatives, developing financial plans which guide the future development of Amazon, coaching and developing the team, or exploring your own ideas in how to drive improvements at the sites.

Japan Fulfillment Center finance team is a dynamic, diverse team of financial professionals, with both male and female members, hailing from several countries including Japan, USA, Korea, Taiwan, China, and Bangladesh. We come from many different academic and career backgrounds--engineering, business and finance, the arts, etc. Both English and Japanese are spoken regularly in our team. Our strong priority is flexibility and inclusion, and helping one another.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree

• 7+ years of related experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in an effective way.

• Proven ability to solve complex problems using data and metrics.

• Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with business partners.

• Superb attention to details and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, etc.)

• MBA or professional certification (CIMA/ACCA/Qualified Accounting certificate)

• Previous experience in a logistics or manufacturing environment.

• Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture.
