Siemens Energy Costing Engineer - Steam Turbine Tendering in Orlando, Florida

A Snapshot of Your Day

Working in the Orlando office, you will be responsible for preparing cost data for proposals and contract negotiations. Provide cost data for Request for Quotation (RFQ) to Quote, to Sales to include time, materials, labor costs, and other factors. Collaborate with global network to collect, coordinate, and calculate cost information vital to submit budgetary and firm bids.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • This role coordinates and leads cost estimating efforts to ensure optimum costing and coordination of Steam Turbine Modernization projects to ensure Siemens Energy Steam Turbine Tendering meets customer expectations and requirements.

  • Identify costs for everything defined in the scope of supply.

  • Based on project scope, define the costs for the hardware, engineering, manufacturing, and project management to complete the project.

  • Provide documentation for each cost element, indicating sources of data, assumptions used and any other methodology or analysis.

  • Integrate all costs into final cost estimate to present to marketing.

What You Bring

  • Strong skills with MS Excel

  • Experience working in SAP

  • Experience with reading and interpreting drawings and bills of materials

  • Understanding project costing principles (escalation rates, adders, taxes/customs duties, etc…)

  • Basic product and component knowledge of steam turbines

  • Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail

Soft Skills

  • Approachable, organized, questioning attitude, clear communicator, collaborative, customer-focused

Education

  • BS in Engineering (preferred)

About the Team

The Team consists of COE and R&D functions, as well as tendering functions required to execute our large utility steam turbine projects. Projects range from R&D, major modernization/upgrades, to new unit. Steam Turbine Engineers are involved in all phases of our projects, beginning with proposals to customers, detailed design, hardware/software production, testing and ending with site installation and turnover to the customer.
