Description This is the Assistant Controller position for you if you are a self-starter with a history of successfully identifying issues and resolving problems. One of the Assistant Controller's tasks include supervising the accounting staff and reporting updates to the Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Orlando, Florida area. How you will make an impact

• Manage the accounting team during the closing process to make sure deadlines are met

• Partake in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

• Other duties as requested

• Help ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, goal setting and development

• Backfill for Controller as appropriate

• Define and flourish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

• Inspect and make Ad Hoc financial reports

• Assist implementation and assure adherence to accounting policies and procedures

• Sophisticated preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

• Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion

• Encourage accountability and the meeting of deliverables

• Devise relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

• Set up various technical accounting analyses, procedures, and policies Requirements - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• NetSuite experience desired

  • Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

  • Complete knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• CPA a plus

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)

• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
