Planate Management Group LLC Accounting Intern in Orlando, Florida

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

As an Accounting Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You will be an integral part of our finance team, contributing to various accounting functions and assisting in the maintenance of financial records.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to process invoices, track expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors.

  • Help maintain accurate and organized financial records.

  • Aid in the preparation of budgets and financial reports and provide valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing necessary documentation.

  • Input financial data into relevant systems and perform basic data analysis to support financial reporting.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

  • Currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Accountancy or a related field

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative.

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices.
