ProMedica Health System Radiology Tech - Urgent Care - Oregon - Part Time - Variable - in Oregon, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY

Performs radiological diagnostic procedures at the provider’s request for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Obtains high quality radiographs that are interpreted by the provider and/or Radiologist in his/her evaluation of the patient.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operates radiologic equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual basis; positions and immobilizes patients; exposes patients to radiation to produce high quality radiographs and records the exposures for diagnostic interpretation by the provider. Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in designated areas in a clean, orderly condition and in compliance with infection control guidelines. Utilizes proper radiation protection, shielding patients, using proper collimation, etc. (provides protection in accordance with prescribed standards). Reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Performs front desk duties including patient registration. Assists in other areas of the practice when patient volume allows. Participates in practice staff meetings. Performs other duties as directed.

Education: Must have completed formal radiologic technology training at an AMA approved school. Skills: Must be able to operate radiological equipment. Must have knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology. Must be able to maintain accurate records and adjust to the use of new methods, techniques and equipment. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to customer/patient satisfaction. Years of Experience: N/A License: Must have completed formal radiologic training in an AMA approved school; must have met ARRT registry requirements and be currently registered or registry eligible (continuation of employment of a registry eligible hired employee is contingent upon passing the registry examination). Must be licensed in the State of Ohio. Certification: Must be CPR certified.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate possible exposure to electrical or radiant hazards.
