The Role

Lumen is hiring for a Lead SEC Reporting Accountant.

The Main Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Forms 10-Q and 10-K and manage the internal and external review for these documents

• Assist with the preparation of the quarterly earnings release filing (8-K)

• Create and maintain SEC calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the quarterly reporting deadlines

• Manage the XBRL process during the 10-Q and 10-K filings

• Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner

• Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team

• Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues

• Assist with compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

• Train staff on new developments and new technology

• Other duties as established or assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education and relevant experience.

• Minimum 4-6 years of related experience and advanced degree preferred.

• 2-3 years of SEC external reporting experience

• CPA license is preferred

• 2-5 years of experience in Big 4 public accounting firm preferred

• Strong accounting acumen and knowledge of US GAAP

• Strong project management experience

• Must have the ability to interact with C-level executives, operations and external auditors

• Excellent verbal and written skills

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$80510 - $107340 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$84740 - $112980 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$88980 - $118630 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$93210 - $124280 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
