Robert Half Level 2 Windows Support Specialist in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois

Description As a Level 2 Windows Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to our employees, ensuring smooth operations of our IT systems. This role involves a combination of phone support, deskside support, and working with virtual desktop environments to accommodate our remote workforce. You will be responsible for resolving issues related to various software and hardware components, including but not limited to Teams, Zoom, keyboards, headsets, and other peripherals. Requirements

Key Responsibilities: Provide timely and effective technical support to employees via phone, email, or in person. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows operating systems, software applications, and hardware peripherals. Assist remote employees with virtual desktop environments, ensuring seamless connectivity and productivity. Collaborate closely with the system administrator on security initiatives and compliance requirements. Document and track support tickets using our ticketing system, ensuring accurate and detailed records of all interactions. Contribute to knowledge base articles and training materials to empower users with self-help resources. Participate in ongoing training and detail-oriented development to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices. Top Requirements: 1-3 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist, with a strong emphasis on Windows environments. Proficiency in PowerShell or automation tools for system administration tasks. Firsthand experience with phone support and deskside support, demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (HIGHLY PREFERRED). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users. Proactive mindset with a passion for learning and continuous improvement. Additional Skills (Preferred): Experience with remote desktop protocols (RDP), virtual private networks (VPN), and remote access tools. Familiarity with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar. Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
