Position Information Job Title

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Electronic Design and Support Technician | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | The Electronic Design and Support Technician will provide support to | | faculty and students | | in theAMEdepartment. The highly skilled position will support the | | department's educational and research programs, being responsible | | for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, assisting in | | teaching laboratory setups, and providing technical support for | | teaching activities, especially in the capstone design courses and in | | the areas of analog and digital circuit applications, computer | | programming, microcontrollers, passive and active filter design, how | | to use lab equipment, strengthen lab skills, and how to conduct tests | | and interpret results from measurements and experiments. This | | position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the | | curriculum and research programs in theAMEdepartment. This position | | will: | | | | - Provide support for undergraduate curriculum inAMEdepartment: | | design and develop hardware and software for lab projects; | | provide technical information and advice for student | | projects; set up and support laboratory activities, instruct | | students in best electrical wiring practices; oversee Intro to EE | | labs; design, build, maintain and repair equipment used inAME | | courses, distribute and collect electronic toolkits for Sr. | | Capstone Design course; create and maintain database of | | documentation supporting labs and courses | | - Manage and maintain equipment associated with electronics lab in | | department: repair and maintain electronic instrumentation and | | computers; repair research lab equipment; manage | | computers including installing and upgrading software, teardown | | capstone projects to recover reusable electrical components; | | troubleshoot for faculty and students working on course and | | research projects | | - Provide support with sponsored research projects: repair research | | lab equipment as needed; consult with faculty on research | | projects; design and build electronics hardware for research | | projects; provide technical consulting for electronics design and | | development | | - Act as a resource for students involved in departmental clubs | | - Provide support for special courses and/or projects at the | | request of supervisor | | - Administrative tasks associated with supplies: inventory | | ofsupplies, reconciling procard transactions, receiving orders | | insystem as necessary | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Associates degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school | | - 1-2 years experience | | - Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Proven experience as an electronics technician | | - Strong knowledge of electronic systems | | - Troubleshooting and repair techniques | | - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail | | - Ability to work independently and with a diverse group of | | constituents | | - Strong communication skills to effectively assist students and | | faculty. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Aerospace and Mechanical Engr (31005) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ame.nd.edu | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Engineering and Science / Electrical/Mechanical Eng | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | NIC 3 Technician | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | $19.50 - $27.00, Commensurate with experience | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Bi-Weekly | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | S3 - FT Non-exempt Hourly | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Technical | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Full-time | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Monday - Friday | | 8am - 5pm | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 40 | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 12 | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
