Main Responsibilities

  • The Laborer performs all vital daily duties to keep our blacktop plants/crushing systems running: by constantly touring, observing, and maintaining all working parts of the facilities; the Laborer plays an imperative role - increasing plant uptime and minimizing downtime through constant, thorough, and effective routine maintenance procedures.

  • Ensure a safe work environment, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

  • Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

  • Perform tasks as outlined by the supervisor, and meet expectations for each specific project.

  • Maintain grounds (grass weeds, fences, gate areas and rails/rail ties).

  • Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery and other equipment used at the site.

  • Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.

  • Responsible for upkeep of tools and work area.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills

  • Ability to pass a Physical Abilities Test and Pre-Employment Urinalysis.

  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.

  • Road construction experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral skills required.

Physical Requirements

  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment as required.

  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).

  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain.

  • Frequent exposure to loud noise.

  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
