Main Responsibilities
The Laborer performs all vital daily duties to keep our blacktop plants/crushing systems running: by constantly touring, observing, and maintaining all working parts of the facilities; the Laborer plays an imperative role - increasing plant uptime and minimizing downtime through constant, thorough, and effective routine maintenance procedures.
Ensure a safe work environment, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
Perform tasks as outlined by the supervisor, and meet expectations for each specific project.
Maintain grounds (grass weeds, fences, gate areas and rails/rail ties).
Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery and other equipment used at the site.
Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
Responsible for upkeep of tools and work area.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills
Ability to pass a Physical Abilities Test and Pre-Employment Urinalysis.
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
Road construction experience preferred.
Excellent written and oral skills required.
Physical Requirements
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment as required.
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain.
Frequent exposure to loud noise.
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
