Job Description

Come to work each day with an inclusive and collaborative business technology team. As an Integration Architect in AbbVie

Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain re-usable components that accelerate integration implementation and reduce complexity.

  • Establish “Fit for purpose” guidelines (decision trees) to drive consistency across projects teams around integration.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive integration strategy aligned to overall IT strategy.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and optimize integration performance, minimize latency, and optimize throughput across the ecosystem.

  • Oversee integrations being developed across projects are aligned with security standards and compliance requirements, safeguarding sensitive data during transit and at rest.

  • Evaluate and select integration tools and technologies, staying ahead of the curve on integration trends and technologies.

  • Develop and maintain integration documentation, outlining design decisions, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Act as the escalation point for handling the resolution of complex integration issues.

  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to optimize future integration projects and ensure expertise is transferred to the broader team.

  • Maintain and update existing integrations to ensure they continue to function seamlessly with evolving systems and technologies.

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

  • Design and development of integrations using APIs, streaming, event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, AWS, Apigee).

  • REST, APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, GraphQL, etc.,

  • Design of CI/CD pipeline, automated integration deployments, etc.

  • SDLC process for the web development delivery including the deployment of code.

  • Best practices and understanding of integration patterns and practices.

  • Clear interpersonal communication, proofreading, editing, and formatting skills.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+, Master's degree with 6+, and PhD with 2+ years of solid, diverse work experience

  • Hands on knowledge of integration patterns and strategies in a hybrid ecosystem.

  • Proficiency to work at the highest level of all phases of application program/system design and implementation.
