Job Title: Field Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking Field/Construction Materials Testing Technicians to perform field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. This role offers the opportunity for experienced technicians to expand their skills, with full training provided in the use of necessary equipment. The role involves assisting with tasks and performing basic testing for asphalt, concrete, and soil under close supervision. You will provide clear documentation of findings and communicate these to the Project Manager. You will also maintain assigned equipment and ensure adherence to safety rules and quality standards on all projects.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Work Environment

This role requires 90% fieldwork. Typically, working hours range from 50-70 hours per week, usually starting at 7:00 am- 5:00 pm, with potential overnight work for large concrete pours. Work on Saturdays may be necessary. The role involves regular sitting, handling objects, reaching, talking, and hearing. It may also involve occasional standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The role also requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
