Robert Half Financial Analyst in Norfolk, Virginia

Description We are inviting applications for a Financial Analyst to join our team in the transport industry, based in Norfolk, Virginia. This role centers around financial planning and analysis, cost monitoring, and supporting strategic decision-making to drive our financial success. As a Financial Analyst, you will be contributing to a culture of financial accountability, producing comprehensive reports, and helping to optimize costs.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to periodic financial planning activities, fostering a culture of financial accountability and operational efficiency.

• Produce monthly management results, using tools for in-depth analysis and validation.

• Prepare comprehensive reports that include variance analysis and actionable recommendations for cost optimization.

• Support monthly and quarterly cost-monitoring activities, providing valuable insights for resource optimization.

• Leverage financial acumen to support and challenge business operation decisions, guiding strategic choices and enhancing overall performance.

• Develop and implement dynamic dashboards/KPIs to track performances effectively versus business plans.

• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, participating in various business control-related duties and projects to evolve our financial processes.

• Apply knowledge of annual budgeting, forecasting, activity-based costing, and job costing to ensure accurate financial data.

• Compile data and create complex financial models using Microsoft Power BI.

• Deliver presentations to various audiences, presenting data in an understandable format. Requirements • Proficient in Annual Budget preparation and execution.

• Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting.

• Knowledge of Activity Based Costing is required.

• Familiar with Cost-Job analysis.

• Ability to compile and interpret financial data.

• Experience in creating Complex Financial Models.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Power BI.

• Ability to create interactive Dashboards.

• Excellent skills in delivering presentations.

• Transport industry experience is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A degree in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.

• Relevant certification, such as CFA or CPA, is a plus.
