Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Norfolk, Virginia

Description A successful Transport organization that will recognize your efforts is working with Robert Half to find a talented Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate for this position can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. Candidates with the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations are the best fits for this position. This Accounting Manager position is a terrific opportunity for permanent employment that is located in the Norfolk, Virginia area.

What you get to do every single day

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

  • Play a key role in the implementation of NetSuite Financials, which includes system and process design, data migration, testing, training, and go-forward system administration

  • Review and analyze balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant

  • Work closely with FP& A and accounting management to create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Lead and encourage the full accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met

  • Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures Requirements - 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • Solid technical skills

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Approved Budgets experience

  • Annual Operating Budget experience preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Journal Entry Preparation

  • Adeptness in P & L Calculation

  • Budget forecasting experience preferred

  • Annual Budget experience

  • Experience with Analyze Financial Statements

  • Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
