Job Description

Skills:• Good Knowledge of Unix / Linux OS including managing / monitoring various processes, overall health of OS / File systems etc.• Good knowledge of Windows Server OS and its functions including managing IIS, registry, various services etc.• Good knowledge of Windows Server OS and Linux OS patching best practices and SCCM• Hands-on experience in all both Windows and Linux OS• Good knowledge of SQL, Oracle Database is desirable• Working knowledge with IaaC tools like Ansible will be a plus• Awareness and knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles with Familiarity with deployment automation tools such as Chef, Ansible etc.-- Exposure in CI/CD and tools like GIT, Jenkins is a plus• Incidence management and root cause analysis• Some preferred Certification(s):o CCNA(Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching)o MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)o RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)o RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)o OEL (Oracle Linux Certification), LPI Certification Programso CISP (Certified Information Security Professional)o ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)

• Flexible to work in 24/7 (including night shifts), willingness to work on Saturday & Sunday in Night shift and take week-offs on weekdays to support critical production systems.• Ability to resolve and troubleshoot the issues reported from customers during the respective shifts is absolute need during outages in the customer application production environments• Should have worked on any ticketing tools (Remedy, CX)• Knowledge of IBM Cognos is a plus

Education and Work Experience:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent• Total 6+ years of experience in IT Operations & Production Application Support• Possess strong technical skills in the automation, troubleshooting, problem solving in the Windows, Linux server environments to support applications• Knowledge in Oracle RDBMS, any specific application level language working knowledge is always helpful• Experience in automation scripting knowledge (Perl, Python, and Unix Shell Scripting etc.) is great advantage but not mandatory• Strong experience in SQL, database tuning, capacity planning based on the performance of the application is a plus• Knowledge of Oracle InForm Suite and IBM Cognos is a plus• Passion for solving complex problems actively that delights the customers• Possess good organizational and communication skills with “Can Do” attitude• Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel, proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized• Strong & excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to dive in and learn complex systems• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and to provide technical skills support to the team with high collaboration is key

Responsibilities

• Support a scalable hosting environment for managing mission critical processes in multi-server Windows, Linux, and Oracle environment requiring limited or no downtime. Assure security of and access to mission critical data.

• Work with project managers to plan server resources and set-up timelines for customer projects. Develop requirements, specification and project development efforts to support customer projects.

• Manage and support Patching maintenance

• Execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects.

• Assure internal and vendor compliance to company standard operating procedures. Review quality metrics and procedures.

Assess system vulnerability and security capabilities. Participate in disaster recovery and backup procedures development and implementation.

• Responsible for the system administration activities within the environment. Assist in monitoring a production environment using Oracle based applications. Install, configure, and maintain file systems. Develop and maintain automation scripts and programs to support and simplify administration tasks for our mission critical processes.

• Investigate capacity requests and perform end-to-end server provisioning and capacity assignment

• Monitor build requests progress and understand when to escalate cross-functionally to meet customer Service Level Agreement (SLA).

• Create and update documentation for changes in process and policies in the patching, trial packing, provision requests, and capacity sheet.

• Work with project managers to plan server resources and set-up timelines for customer implementations. Support daily customer Change and Incident management

• Execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects.
