Robert Half Billing Manager in Newport News, Virginia

Description We are in search of a dedicated Billing Manager to oversee our non-profit organization's complex and high-volume billing operations in Newport News, Virginia. This position involves managing a small team and ensuring the efficient administration of customer billing, including Public Works fees, under limited supervision. This role provides a long-term contract employment opportunity in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the organization's billing operations.

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.

• Maintain detailed and accurate customer credit records.

• Handle customer inquiries related to billing and resolve them promptly.

• Supervise a small team, providing guidance and support as necessary.

• Monitor customer accounts, identifying any issues and taking appropriate action.

• Administer billing for Public Works fees in addition to regular customer billing.

• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools for efficient management of accounts.

• Perform various accounting functions, including managing accounts receivable.

• Implement and maintain effective accounting management systems. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in a Billing Manager role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Experience in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is crucial

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions is necessary

• Knowledge in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is a requirement

• Demonstrable experience in Accounting management is essential

• Previous experience in Billing is required

• Ability to work in a non-profit environment is desirable

• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are necessary

• Proven track record of managing a team is expected

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Must be able to multitask, set priorities, and manage time effectively

• Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail are needed

• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, are required.
