Principal Financial Group Sr Risk Management Specialist - Principal Asset Management in New York, New York

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Sr. Risk Management Specialist to join our global Risk Management team within Principal Asset Management. In this role, you’ll provide support to the business, financial, investment, and operational risk efforts and analysis!

  • Support the execution of complex risk programs, processes, functions, and procedures for global operational risk. Positively influence risk program adherence. Develop improvements and implement changes to risk programs.

  • Perform risk analysis and risk reporting for business areas. Assemble and compile reports related to risk management programs. Runs ad hoc reports for special projects within assigned areas. Implement quarterly business risk assessment in compliance with corporate standards.

  • Collaborate with key business and risk partners to communicate risk trends and insights in an effective manner. Lead risk presentations and trainings to business staff. Appropriately challenge business processes as applicable.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent education and experience.

  • 8+ years risk management experience (includes legal, compliance, audit or direct oversight of a business process with accountability for compliance or risk management). Specific experience in the asset management business is a plus.

  • Must possess analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$106400 - $167000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements in our Des Moines, IA and New York, NY offices. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
