JPMorgan Chase Public Finance - High Yield Senior Trader - Executive Director in New York, New York

Join JP Morgan's public finance high yield trading team! Our team is Wall Street's premier sell-side market-maker in below investment grade municipal bonds. As an Executive Director on our team you will work with top professionals and work with a variety of institutional clients comprised of banks, fund managers, insurance companies, managed accounts, and hedge funds. You will identify trading opportunities in various high yield sectors and coordinate with banking, debt capital markets and syndicate on new issue. Provide market color, credit analysis and trade ideas to our universe of clients and our sales team and develop strong relationships with both investor and issuer clients. Some domestic travel will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Senior trader covering institutional accounts and making markets in municipal bonds and other non-profit securities

  • Manage risk, liquidity and exposure and support all aspects of the trading desk: pre-trade analysis, credit & high yield research, inbound and outbound trade processing and advanced data analytics, including algo pricing applications

  • Work directly with banking, syndicate and debt capital markets to create custom solutions for our issuer clients

  • Provide market color, evaluate market and credit developments and dynamics in order to give clients and traders the best information available

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 10+ years of Trading or Markets experience

  • Experience with high-yield municipal bonds (work force housing, charter schools, gas prepays, Puerto Rico, healthcare/CCRC)

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant coursework (Economics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Math, or related)

  • Thrives in challenging pressures and has the ability to remain focused in stressful situations

  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; proficiency in data analysis tools or programming preferred

  • Understands the evolving role of technology on markets and has the aptitude to contribute to applications of the future

  • Superior time management and multi-tasking skills to juggle live transactions and daily tasks

  • Maturity and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced and open environment
